Description

The improving patient outcomes RN class (IPORN) is a mandatory class designed to educate RNs on two important topics for patient care during hospitalization. The skin care portion of the class will cover current skin care and pressure ulcer prevention guidelines and standards, and the last hour will focus on fall prevention strategies and nursing guidelines for patient safety.

Course Time: 9:30 AM - 1:00 PM

Course Pre-work for RNs:

The NDNQI Pressure Ulcer (4 modules), course pre-work, is strongly recommended for all RNs to complete, but is not required to attend the class.

Nurses will be awarded 2 contact hours for completing the NDNQI Ulcer Trainings and may use continuing education time (if available). Please submit your 4 NDNQI certificates of completion to your UD for verification and payroll purposes.

Contact Hours:

Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider number 12511 for 3.5 contact hours.

UCLA Health is accredited as a provider of continuing education by the american Nurses Credentialing Center's commision on Accreitation. Nurses will be awarded 3.25 ANCC contact hour for participation in this activity.

Please allow ample time for traffic and parking. The course will begin promptly at the designated start time. No partial CE credit given.
